We’ve just about recovered from our first Simply Solids Sew’In Retreat weekend. We’d just like to give a big shout out to everyone who came along, you all made it such a fab weekend and helped make it the success we had dreamed of.
So for a quick round up of some of the events and giggles from the weekend:
Our drop in’s included a techie Touchdraw session from Lynne
A bit of EPP in the breakout area lead by Justine and closely monitored by Katy
A successful (with the exception of Lisa!!!) Sew Together Bag sewing session lead by Mandy the queen of zips!
Oh and just a couple of hyper productive screen printing sessions from when Karen Lewis dropped by
We had hand applique with Mandy and foundation paper pieced pin cushions with Lynne to round up the weekends sessions
Whilst all this was going on the whole room was a constant buzz of WIP’s being completed and we had some amazing finishes throughout the whole weekend.
Over achievers galore we have marked your cards for next year. You may have set yourselves some pretty hefty targets come 2016!
One mention goes to Iris who managed to piece the last few blocks and sash this quilt, sewing to the very last minute before presentations. Not only this but I’m pretty sure I saw her pop up in nearly all the drop in sessions and complete a sew together bag!!!

Oh but the fun didn’t stop there, oh no no no. We had swaps a plenty, superbly organised by the wonderful Pippa who kept all the group in check!
We had name tag swap
Jacqui won the draw on that one with avery unique badge!!!
Fat Quarter & scrap swaps both of which were very orderly
Then finally we had the secret sewer swap and I’m pretty sure we had some very happy players in this swap with some amazing presents gifted throughout the weekend:
