Do you quilt under the influence of traditional methods and rules? Do you thrive on pointy points and perfectly square corners but secretly wish you could embrace the creative freedom of the wonky, improvisational business?
If your answer is yes, then this is the class for you! We are so pleased to have Krista Hennebury all the way from Canada to teach this great class. Krista has authored a book 'Make it, Take it' and has taught her improv methods across the world, she is an active member of the Modern Quilt Guild and has wrote patterns on their behalf as well as had her quilts hanging in the invitational section of the show.
Starting with 5" charms, Krista will teach you her fun and fast piecing method that utilizes your traditional piecing and rotary cutting skills to create wonky strip units. There's no pre-cutting of random strips, no stack 'n' whack, no free-cutting with scissors; Krista provides a relaxed, fun and engaging environment where students can explore ideas and design their own original quilt. Please look on instagram under the hashtag improvundertheinfluence for examples of quilts made in this class with Krista
This is a 2 day course with 12-16 hours instruction including student-led design options for final layout and improvisational walking-foot instruction.
You can choose to pay in full for this class or pay a deposit of £45. We will then set up a recurring payment for two further payments in January and February of £40 per month.
