6 in stock.
This class runs on Saturday 22nd April 2017 from 10:00am - 4:30pm
During this workshop you will learn the basics of patchwork - cutting, stitching and pressing. You will learn how patchwork designs are constructed; gaining skills in identifying and stitching the ‘building blocks’ of patchwork, such as half-square and quarter-square triangles.
The class is suitable for beginners who want to learn fundamental piecing skills or for those with some experience who want to re-visit these skills to improve precision.
As this session is about skills development you will end up with a number of blocks and samples at the end of the class. You may wish to bring fabrics which co-ordinate so you can make your blocks up into a finished item later, but this is not essential - you can bring a general assortment of fabrics which you have available.
Assorted large pieces or fat quarters of fabrics to make your blocks
1/2m of background fabric if you want to keep your background consistent across the blocks you make
Please note all fabrics should be 100% cotton and you will need to include fabrics from the light, medium and dark shade ranges. As amny of the patchwork pieces will be around the 3" size large scale prints will probably not be suitable.
We do have some equipment for you to use and before the class begins we will send you a pre-read which will include a list of everything you will need to bring with you.
Please bring along basic sewing kit and your sewing machine if you have one. If you don’t it's no problem as we can provide one but please let us know in advance. If bringing your own sewing machine please can we ask that you also bring along the manual.
Once you have signed up to the class you will receive a single use 10% off fabric discount code to be used at www.simplysolids.co.uk or in our shop.
